“I love playing the flute,” writes École Maison’s Toddler I teacher, Tabi Fahner. It’s one of those things that she enjoys doing, but not too many people know about it. “I have played since I was in middle school. I don’t have as much time to pursue this [now] but hopefully I will soon.”
The 36 year-old teacher is originally from Columbus. She has been with École Maison since August 2011. Prior to that, Tabi worked at other childcare centers.
“I love watching children learn and grow,” she comments. “It is very rewarding to hear them sing new songs, recite the alphabet and to hear them count.”
Tabi has certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Communicable Diseases. She is currently enrolled at Columbus State, working toward a degree in Sign Language Interpretation.
This mother of two boys, 17 year-old Tre and Braiden who is 7, loves to read novels, watch movies and attend plays. She also enjoys camping with her family.
Tabi feels very fortunate about her role at École Maison and believes the most rewarding part of it is serving the center’s families.
“The children will yell your name as you walk in the door and run to give you a huge hug. I am greatly indebted to the parents for allowing us to be such an intricate part of their everyday lives.”
